Some apartments do allow you to paint the walls, if your complex does consider the options available to you that can provide you with a way to turn your apartment into a beautiful home.
The first thing to do when you are looking into painting your apartment is to take time out to seriously consider the colors that you want to put into the various rooms of your apartment. Consider the fact that the various colors will determine the type of atmosphere that is created in the room. Some colors will be relaxing while other colors are going to be less relaxing and more stimulating. In order to get a good idea of what colors are going to work consider using paint chips and then after making a selection get a small amount of the paint, paint a poster board and see what it will look like.
If you are using different colors for different rooms then it may be a good idea for you make sure that, the colors can blend together or that can flow into each other. This will help to create a flow to the entire apartment at the same time it defines the various spaces. Make sure that you limit the number of colors you use in any given room. Too many colors in a room create the appearance that the room is busy and it can create a sense of stress rather than relaxation.
Lighting is also an important when considering paint options. This is one of the reasons why it is important to test the paint color in the room before painting the entire room. This will give you the opportunity to make sure that the color works not only for the room but for the lighting you have in your apartment. Consider the hue and saturation of the color. Light colors will recede from the eye expanding the room while darker colors advance towards the eye and appear to make things close in.
